Czechs Present a New Logo for EU Presidency (Cesi Predstavuji Nove Logo Predsednictvi EU)

Czech Prime Minister Miroslav Topolanek and Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Vondra presented the new logo yesterday, which the Czech Republic will use during their term of Presidency for the European Union. The colorful logo represents the diversity and openness and also the web portal of the Czech presidency of the EU and will be available to the public on the 1st of December 2008 and fully from the new year.
The author of this logo is a graphic designer Tomas Pakosta from Litomysl. The logo was honored as a “smart design” symbolizing a country of intelligent and smart people. The logo competition began in July 2007 and a total of 350 designs were entered into this contest. The winning design, however, stood out of all of them.
The motto of the Czech presidency is “Europe without Barriers.” The Czech Republic will be able to take over the presidency from France on the 20th anniversary of the ending of the communist regime. However, the presidency will be passed on to Sweden in the middle of the next year.

Pestre barvy loga predstavuji pestrost a otevrenost a zastupuje webovy portal ceskeho predsednictvi EU a bude castecne dostupny verejnosti 1. prosince 2008 a plne od noveho roku.
Autorem tohoto loga je grafik Tomas Pakosta z Litomysle. Logo bylo vyznamenano jako chytre a symbolizujici zemi inteligentnich a chytrych lidi. Soutez o nejlepsi logo zacala jiz v cervenci 2007 a celkem bylo prijato 350 navrhu. Vitezny navrh ale vystupoval z rady.
Motto ceskeho predsednictvi je Evropa bez barier. Ceska republika bude mit moznost prevzit predsednictvi od Francie na vyroci 20 let od ukonceni komunistickeho rezimu. V polovie roku ho vsak preda Svedsku.
