Here we have the first feedback from the celebration of the 19th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in California. Czechs and Slovaks met in San Diego on the beach to a pleasant evening full of music (including guitars and a banjo), food, drinks and interesting conversations. Comfortable weather in California did not call for warm clothing and a large bonfire only added to a pleasant environment. People roasted almost everything: bread, bagels, bacon, American and Polish sausages and more. There was more than enough wood, thus, even children had their own fire for their entertainment.

How many Czechs and Slovaks met on that day? Nobody knows but definitely about fifty. There were so many people that it was impossible to talk with everybody. The music was simply amazing. You could hear songs from Olympic, Zelenaci (Greenhorns) and U.S. bands too. Everybody had a very good time well into the evening and nobody wanted to go home and get ready for another working day.

Zde mame prvni informace z oslavy 19. vyroci Sametove revoluce z Kalifornie. Cesi a Slovaci se sesli v San Diegu na plazi k prijemnemu veceru plneho hudby (hralo se na kytaru i na bendzo), jidla, piti a zajimavych konverzaci. Prijemne pocasi v Kalifornii si nezadalo o teple obleceni a velky ohen jen pridal na prijemnem prostredi. Opekalo se skoro vsechno: chleb, housky, slanina, parky, klobasky a podobne. Dreva bylo vice jak dost a tak i deti meli vlastni ohen pro zabavu.

Kolik Cechu a Slovaku se tedy seslo? To nikdo nevi, ale urcite okolo padesatky. Setkalo se tolik lidi, ze proste nebylo mozno mluvit s kazdym. Hudba byla proste uzasna. Mohli jste slyset pisnicky od Olympicu, Zelenacu (Greenhorns) i americkych skupin. Vsichni se velmi bavili az do pozdniho vecera a nikomu se nechtelo jit domu a pripravit se na dalsi pracovni den.
