This Sunday the Czech audience will have a great opportunity to watch a new television movie premiere called “Kanadska Noc” (Canadian Night) with Dagmar Havlova, the wife of the former president of the Czech Republic - Vaclav Havel. The dramatic story is about two parents that lose their only son during his studies in Canada. This film, which will certainly touch the hearts of many viewers, is directed by Zdenek Zelenka and it is based on a true story.

Havlova had about six months to review the script for the movie, written by Hana Cielova, and she also met with other women that lost their children under similar circumstances as described in the movie.  She actually fell in love with the script and that gave her courage to play on television again after almost a ten year break. She plays alongside with Victor Preiss, whom she knew from theatre and television for a long time.

Dagmar Havlova’s opportunity to play in a play “Odchazeni,” written by her husband was destroyed when she had to reject the main role for health reasons. You can see her, however, in a Theatre Na Vinohradech in a play “Visnovy Sad” and in Studio Dva in “Chvile Pravdy.” Havlova will also appear on movie screens in January in one of the main roles of a new thriller called “Normal” that was written by Julius Sevcik.

Will her return to film and theatre industry be successful? Time will show; however, so far her transition from the political field was quite smooth and well accepted by Czechs at home and also abroad.

Tuto neděli bude mít České publikum jedinečnou příležitost zhlédnout novou televizní premiéru filmu s názvem “Kanadská Noc” s Dagmar Havlovou, manželkou bývalého prezidenta České republiky - Václava Havla. Dramatický příběh je o dvou rodičích, kteří ztratí svého jediného syna během svého studia v Kanadě. Tento film, který se určitě dotkne srdcí mnoha diváku, byl režírován Zdeňkem Zelenkou a je založen na skutečném příběhu.
 

Havlová měla možnost si pročíst scénář pro tento film od Hany Cielové již šest měsíců před natáčením a dokonce se také setkala s jinými ženami, které ztratily své děti za podobných okolností, které jsou popsány ve filmu. Havlová se vlastně zamilovala do tohoto skriptu, který ji dodal odvahu hrát znovu v televizi po téměř desetileté pauze. Ve filmu hraje po boku Viktora Preisse, kterého dlouho zná z divadla a televize.

Dagmar Havlová měla možnost si zahrát ve hře “Odchazení”, který napsal její manžel, ale nakonec svou hlavní roli ze zdravotních důvodů odmítla. Můžete ji ale vidět v Divadle Na Vinohradech ve hře “Višňový Sad” a ve Studiu Dva ve hře “Chvíle Pravdy”. Havlová se také objeví v lednu v kinech v novém thrilleru od Juliuse Ševčíka jménem “Normal,” kde ztvárnila jedu z hlavních rolí.

Bude její návrat do filmového a divadelního průmyslu úspěšný? To nám ukáže čas, ale zatím byl její přechod z oblasti politiky hladký a Češi doma i v zahraničí ho přijali dobře.
