Článek v ČEŠTINĚ dole (Klikněte na “Read the rest …”)

The title probably does not make sense to all of you that did not hear about the project “Transparency 2009.” This project started in the beginning of January and it will last throughout the Czech Presidency over the EU. The light creations introduce new visions and ideas of six different artists from different countries. The fifth exhibition by Ulla Rauter just started and illuminates the Vltava River every night after midnight. To us, this is the most interesting exhibit out of all five already displayed and it can really bring peace to your mind through the creative idea behind it.

The light exhibition organized by w.art projects agency and the goal is to introduce art to the largest number of people. Czechs don’t have to go to museums or visit galleries to see art - they have it right there, in the middle of Prague. The project will last throughout the term of the Czech Presidency over the European Union.

The total of six exhibits were planned to be displayed from the 7^th of January until the 30^th of June, 2009. The first exhibition by Arthur Duff already ended in the beginning of February but other exhibits are still available. If you plan to visit Prague, you should definitely visit the locations below to see them in person:

January 7^th - February 2^nd: Arthur Duff (USA/Italy) - Old Town Square
January 7^th - June 30^th: Jaume Plensa (Spain) - Jan Palach Square / Rudolfinum, Julian Opie (UK) - National Theatre, Stephan Reusse (Germany) - Dusni Street / Spanish synagogue
February 21^st - June 30^th: Ulla Rauter (Austria) - Vltava / Smetana Museum
April 30^th - May 6^th: Jenny Holzer (USA) - National Museum

Artur Duff used love letters as his inspiration. The laser show reflected messages from his own parents on buildings at Old Town Square. Jan Palach Square displays a five meter tall statue that shows letters from many different alphabets around the world by Jaume Plensa. Julian Opie created a dancing girl that is displayed in a window of the National Theatre. Stephan Reusse has created a laser exhibition reflecting images of mice at Dusni Street. The last exhibition, however, caught our attention the most. It is done by Ulla Rauter and it displays a word TACET by Smetana Museum that is reflected on the Vltava River.

The idea behind TACET display is to show this word only when Prague is silent at night. The Latin word means “a pause” in the music terminology. The sign is connected to special equipment that only turns the sign on when the noises in the middle of Prague decline. Therefore, you can only see it when Prague is almost “silent” and that is probably the best time to enjoy this interesting piece of art that will bring people closer to art in both heart and mind.

Titul zřejmě nedává smysl všem, kteří jste neslyšeli o projektu Transparency 2009. Tento projekt byl zahájen na začátku ledna a bude trvat po celé České předsednictví v EU. Světelné výtvory přinášejí nové vize a nápady od šesti různých umělců z různých zemí. Pátá výstava od Ulla Rauter právě začala a osvětluje Vltavu každý večer po půlnoci. Pro nás je to nejzajímavější exponát ze všech pěti již zobrazených a může skutečně přinést mír do vaší duše díky své kreativní myšlence.

Světelná výstava byla zorganizovaná agenturou w.art projects a cílem je představit umění největšímu počtu lidí. Češi tak nemusejí navštívit muzea či galerie k tomu, aby pozřeli umění - mají ho tady, uprostřed Prahy. Projekt bude trvat po celou dobu trvání českého předsednictví Evropské unii.

Bylo naplánováno celkem šest exponátů a budou zobrazeny od 6. ledna do 30. června 2009. První výstava od Arthura Duffa již skončila na začátku února, ale ostatní exponáty jsou ještě k dispozici. Pokud plánujete návštěvu Prahy, měli byste určitě osobně navštívit místa níže uvedené:

7. ledna - 2. února: Arthur Duff (USA/Itálie) - Staroměstské náměstí
7. ledna - 30. června: Jaume Plensa (Španělsko) - náměstí Jana Palacha / Rudolfinum, Julian OPPP (UK) - Národní divadlo, Stephan Reusse (Německo) - Dušní ulice / Španělské synagoga
21. února - 30. června: Ulla Rauter (Rakousko) - ledolamy před Novotného lávkou (Vltava / Smetana Museum)
30. dubna - 6. května: Jenny Holzer (USA) - Národní muzeum

Artur Duff použil milostné dopisy jako jeho inspiraci. Laserové show odráží zprávy od svých vlastních rodičů na budovách Staroměstského náměstí. Náměstí Jana Palacha zobrazuje pět metrů vysoká socha od Jaume Plensa se symboly z mnoha různých světových abeced. Julian Opie vytvořil tančící dívku, která je zobrazena v okně Národního divadla. Stephan Reusse vytvořil laserové show s obrázky myší v Dušní ulici. Poslední výstava ale přilákala naši pozornost nejvíce. Je od Ulla Rauter a zobrazuje slovo TACET na ledolamech před Novotného lávkou, které se odráží na Vltavě.

Myšlenkou zobrazení TACET je ukázat toto slovo pouze v případě, kdy Praha v noci mlčí. Latinské slovo v hudební terminologii znamená “pauza.” Tento nápis je napojen na speciální zařízení, které ho pouze rozsvítí, když hluk uprostřed Prahy klesne. Proto jej můžete pouze vidět, když je Praha téměř “tichá”, a to je asi ten nejlepší čas zhlédnutí tohoto zajímavého uměleckého díla, které přinese občany blíže k umění a to nejen v mysli, ale i srdci.
